22, no. 1
This work addresses the Master Production Scheduling problem (MPS) of a pet food manufacturing plant. The production process comprises several stages, starting with the dosing of raw materials and ending with the packaging and storage of the final product. The plant has a fixed number of production lines, being the critical equipment the extruders and packaging machines available. Given a medium-term horizon (3 to 5 months) disaggregated into weeks, for each line the production volumes per product, which are associated to different families, must be defined. A mixed-integer linear mathematical model (MILP), considering the main constraints of the problem, combined with a Rolling Horizon algorithm to solve the complete horizon has been developed.
The proposed methodology has been applied to the MPS problem of a large-scale industrial facility that produces hundreds of products and families. Based on the problem’s dimensions, a parameter analysis of the algorithm has been performed to find the best balance between time and solution quality. As a result, by applying the proposed methodology considerable improvements were obtained regarding key indicators such as minimum batch size per family, compliance with the stock policy, and solution times compared with the current method.; Este trabajo aborda la Programación Maestra de la Producción (PMP) de una planta de elaboración de alimentos para mascotas.

In recent years, the severity of forest fires has reached worrying levels both internationally and nationally. However, thanks to the advance of technology, it is possible to predict forest fires occurrence and magnitude through Machine Learning models specially developed for this purpose. To achieve this goal, this paper describes the development of an automated data pipeline in the Python programming language that generates a forest. fires dataset specific to Pinamar area, thus allowing the subsequent training of predictive fire models. Data science and Google mobility reporting for fuel demand modeling
51 Jornadas Argentinas de Informática e Investigación Operativa - JAIIO (Buenos Aires, 17 al 27 de octubre de 2022); Electronic Journal of SADIO; vol. 22, no. 1
The significant change in the flow of vehicles during the pandemic situation and the variation in fuel consumption associated with transportation and various productive activities required the creation of new predictive models related to an unusual data set (e.g., geolocation of drivers).
Proper manipulation and analysis of these data provide a forecast that improves the traditional forecast of fuel demand associated with actual consumption. In this paper we analyze the databases of fuel sales (gasoline and diesel), available and open in official websites and information of the company YPF. The results show a positive correlation between the variables related to the demand for these fuels and the Google mobility records, with some particularities. The programming language used for the development of the visualization code, geostatistics, predictive calculation and research reports is "R".

51 Jornadas Argentinas de Informática e Investigación Operativa - JAIIO (Buenos Aires, 17 al 27 de octubre de 2022); Electronic Journal of SADIO; vol. 22, no. 1
In this work, a pilot experience of the "Robotics Workshop" activity at Fab Lab UNR is analyzed. 51 Jornadas Argentinas de Informática e Investigación Operativa - JAIIO (Buenos Aires, 17 al 27 de octubre de 2022); Electronic Journal of SADIO; vol. 22, no. 1
Software projects are inputs in Evidence-Based Software Engineering, although they are selected without following a specific strategy, which decreases the generalization and replication of the results. One option is to use collections of existing projects, but these must have explicit construction and maintenance rules. The objective of this work was to perform a secondary study on software project selection strategies in empirical studies, and learn about: the rules considered, project characteristics, code metrics, extraction tools and statistical analyses employed. A systematic mapping was used to identify articles from January 2013 to December 2021. We selected 150 studies in which 67% used their own rules for project selection and 31% worked with existing collections, and the majority (80%) used Java projects.
A more comprehensive use of biomass as raw material to produce food, energy and products would result in an important contribution towards the Sustainable Development Goals. The concept of biorefinery allows regions with abundant natural resources to make the most of available biomass for these purposes, achieving progressive independence from fossil resources. This study presents a framework for the multi-criteria design of biorefinery supply chains (SC) under sustainability considerations. Therefore, an optimization approach of different scenarios is performed followed by a ranking based on the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model to assess the efficiency according to different economic, environmental and social indicators. The capabilities of this approach are demonstrated through a case study of the biomass SC centered in the Northwest of Argentina.

Brain-Computer Interfaces are useful devices that can partially restore communication from severely compromised patients. Although advances in deep learning have significantly improved brain pattern recognition, a large amount of data is required for training these deep architectures. In recent years, the inner speech paradigm has drawn much attention, as it can potentially allow natural control of different devices. However, as of the date of this publication, there is only a small amount of data available in this paradigm. In this work we show that it is possible, through transfer learning and domain adaptation methods, to make the most of the scarce data, enhancing the training process of a deep learning architecture used in brain-computer interfaces.

Subjective texts have been extensively studied due to their potential to influence behaviors. While most research has focused on user-generated texts in social networks, other types of texts, such as news headlines expressing opinions on certain topics, can also influence judgment criteria during political decisions. In this paper, we address the task of Targeted Sentiment Analysis for news headlines related to the 2019 Argentinean Presidential Elections, published by major news outlets. To facilitate research in this area, we present a polarity dataset comprising 1,976 headlines that mention candidates at the target level.
Our experiments using state-of-the-art classification algorithms based on pre-trained language models demonstrate the usefulness of target information for this task. We also provide public access to our data and models to foster further research.

This work aims to evaluate the accuracy of Long Short-Term Memory Neural Networks to recommend Buy/Sell signals of some Brazilian Stock Market Blue Chips. The population of this study was composed by top 5 volume stocks, which represented nearly 40% of the total volume of Brazilian Stock Market in 2019. It was analyzed the following features: volume traded, closing and opening price, maximum and minimum price, and last five-day closing prices. Models created can forecast the next day’s opening or closing price. Obtained results show that forecasting and real values have a coefficient of determination (R2) from 0.91 to 0.99, depending on the stock.

A Transformer is a Deep Learning model created in 2017 with the aim of performing translations between natural languages.
