Inclusive Physical Education in Brazil: Interview with Marli Nabeiro

La Dra. Marli Nabeiro aborda, en la presente entrevista, temas relacionados a la educación inclusiva en Brasil, específicamente hace referencia al abordaje que se lleva a cabo desde la Educación Física. Realiza una recorrida sobre el trato que han tenido las personas con discapacidad a lo largo de la historia y cómo la concepción que se tenía sobre estas personas se fue modificando. Asimismo, da cuenta de la influencia de estos cambios en el ámbito educativo y de cómo se trabaja actualmente de una forma inclusiva. En relación con ésto, relata el trabajo que se está llevando a cabo desde la Educación Física para mejorar las prácticas en las escuelas y describe una de las estrategias utilizadas para la inclusión que se basa en el entrenamiento de un compañero para que actúe de tutor.; Dr. Marli Nabeiro addresses, in this interview, topics related to inclusive education in Brazil, specifically focusing on the approach conducted from Physical Education. She makes a review of the treatment given to disabled people throughout history and how the concept towards these people has evolved. <title>Sujetos a una disciplina que disciplina: Un análisis crítico de las prácticas de gimnasia dominantes en el gimnasio</title>

Las prácticas de gimnasia en los gimnasios proponen/imponen, normalizan y naturalizan determinadas relaciones de poder/saber entre sus adeptos que, a partir de ellas, disciplinan y corrigen sus cuerpos pero no por ello necesariamente se hacen más libres y sapientes de sus prácticas y discursos corporales, de lo que hacen con sus propios cuerpos o de lo que piensan, sienten o dicen acerca de ellos. Cuando el poder se transforma en dominación, la educación corporal generada no permite resistencias ni cuestionamientos y lo que se adquiere no se transforma en herramienta crítica para gobernar las próximas elecciones corporales cotidianas. En este artículo se analizan, en primer lugar, algunos términos pertenecientes a Michel Foucault tales como sujeto, discurso, práctica, poder, dominación y disciplina; en segundo lugar, se examina el concepto de educación aportado por Inés Dussel y Marcelo Carusso. Por último se utilizarán todas estas aproximaciones conceptuales a modo de herramientas teóricas para establecer algunas conclusiones iniciales y provisorias que permitan la dinámica de algunas clases colectivas de gimnasia de un gimnasio de la ciudad de la Plata, en las cuales se recabaron datos empíricos con observación participante. Este trabajo forma parte de los estudios iniciales pertenecientes al proyecto de tesis perteneciente a la Maestría en Educación Corporal: “La gimnasia en los gimnasios, ni educación, ni física”.; Gymnastic practices developed at gyms propose/impose, standardize and naturalize particular relationships of power/ knowledge among their followers. As from these practices, people can now control and correct their bodies but this condition does not necessarily make them more independent and knowledgeable about their corporal practices or discourses. When power becomes a form of domination, the generated body education does not allow for any kind of resistance or questioning; therefore, people cannot use the knowledge gained critically in order to govern their body choices. The aim of this article is two-fold: to analyse some concepts belonging to Michel Foucault such as subject, discourse, praxis, power, dominion and discipline; and to examine Inés Dussel and Marcelo Carusso’s concept of education. Finally, these various theoretical approaches will be used to establish some initial and provisional conclusions that may help us to understand the nature and dynamics of some collective gym classes at a gym in the city of La Plata (Buenos Aires, Argentina), in which empirical data was collected through participant observation. This paper is part of our dissertation project for the MA Degree Program in Physical Education: “La gimnasia en los gimnasios, ni educación, ni física”.

The physical school education´s culture in EJA: between breaking with the notion of activity and the lack of corporal practices

O presente trabalho é o resultado de uma pesquisa referenciada no campo de estudos da cultura esco - lar, e aborda a cultura escolar específica da educação física de uma escola de Ensino de Jovens e Adul - tos (EJA) da cidade de Curitiba – PR. Metodologicamente nos orientamos pelos conceitos e critérios da etnometodologia, o que nos levou a uma longa imersão no campo. Os principais resultados nos mostram a relevância na constituição da identidade docente na configuração da cultura escolar dA educação física, bem como que a oferta meramente teórica da disciplina nos coloca frente a um paradoxo:&#13;
por um lado nos sinaliza a necessidade de rompermos com a tradição da Educação Física enquanto “atividade”, mas também revela a necessidade da experiência corporal como substrato necessá - rio para a elaboração teórica.; This paper is the result of a research based on the school culture concept, which object is the specific school culture of the physical education (PE) within a school for youth and adults situated in Curitiba - PR. Methodologically we followed the principles and concepts of the ethnomethodology, that led us to a long immersion in the research field. The main results of the research show the relevance of the teacher identity for constituting the school culture of the PE, as well the paradox resulting of a mere theoretical approach: on the one hand this school culture show us the importance of the disruption with the PE´s tradition based on the notion of “activity”, and on the other hand reveal the necessity of the body experience as a fundament to build a theoretical construct.

This paper is the result of a research based on the school culture concept, which object is the specific school culture of the physical education (PE) within a school for youth and adults situated in Curitiba - PR. Methodologically we followed the principles and concepts of the ethnomethodology, that led us to a long immersion in the research field. Power, Bodies and Representations of Manhood among Police Officers and Rugby Players

En estas páginas, a través de un diálogo comparativo entre dos objetos y sujetos de investigación diferentes, reflexionaremos sobre representaciones corporales y nociones de lo masculino Proponemos comparar los resultados de dos trabajos etnográficos uno entre hombres que juegan al rugby en la ciudad de La Plata y el otro entre hombres y mujeres policías de la provincia de Buenos Aires. Nuestro objetivo es analizar cómo diferentes agentes del mundo social producen y reproducen, a través del cuerpo, nociones de género. Nuestro recorrido analítico nos lleva, primero a ver las representaciones del cuerpo, en cada uno de estos mundos relacionales para luego analizar cómo se usan estas representaciones. Nos motiva reflexionar las formas en que lo corporal se constituye en referente de nociones de masculinidad, y cómo estas son, al fin y al cabo, recursos utilizables según los contextos sociales.; In these work, we reflect about body representations and notions of masculinity through a comparative dialogue between different research subjects and objects. We compare the results of two ethnographic works: the first one is about men who play rugby in the city of La Plata, and the other is about police men and women of the province of Buenos Aires. Our objective /goal is to analyse how agents who belong to different social worlds produce and reproduce, through their bodies, notions of gender. Our analysis focuses first on the body representations in each of these two worlds to analyse, then, how these representations are used. We are concerned with the ways in which the body becomes a referent to notions of masculinity and how these are eventually used as resources according to different social contexts.

O que apresentamos traduz um debate no campo da saúde pública/saúde coletiva no Brasil relativo à formação em saúde, especialmente no nível da atenção primária em saúde, mas também resulta de uma intervenção no serviço público de saúde que envolveu estudantes e docente vinculados ao curso de graduação em Educação Física e Esporte da Universidade de São Paulo (USP), que se viram diante do desafio de responder às necessidades de saúde da população experimentando a atuação interprofissional. O Programa de Educação pelo Trabalho para a Saúde (PET-Saúde), uma das iniciativas do governo federal que busca aproximar universidade (estudantes e docentes), serviços de saúde (profissionais da saúde) e usuários a fim de problematizar o ensino em saúde, assim como qualificar a atenção e o cuidado em saúde, induziu essa formação diferenciada.&#13;
Da participação dos estudantes no PET-Saúde, entre 2010 e 2012, ressaltamos o processo de ressignificação do campo e do próprio conceito saúde e a possibilidade de intervir nas necessidades de saúde da população a partir do trabalho em equipe.; What we present conveys a debate in public health/collective health field in Brazil in regard to the education in health, especially at the primary health care.
