Frameworks and Application Programming Interfaces (API) usually come along with a set of guidelines that establish good programming practices in order to avoid pitfalls which could lead, at least, to bad user experiences, and at most, to program crashes. Most often than not, such guidelines are not at all enforced by IDEs. This work investigates whether static taint analysis could be effectively used for automatically detecting bad programming patterns in Android applications. It presents the implemented tool, called CheckDroid, together with the preliminary experimental evaluation carried out.

O objetivo deste trabalho é realizar um estudo comparativo sobre os fatores de influência do uso da linguagem natural na especificação de requisitos na Argentina e o Brasil. A metodologia adotada é um estudo descritivo, de abordagem quantitativa por meio de equações estruturais. O modelo teórico proposto baseia-se na Teoria Unificada de Aceitação e Uso da Tecnologia. Foi elaborado um questionário com 17 perguntas para 45 analistas de requisitos da Argentina e 50 analistas de requisitos do Brasil. O instrumento de pesquisa foi validado e pode ser reutilizado. Identificou-se que os motivos que levam os analistas a utilizar a linguagem natural na especificação é a expectativa de um rendimento elevado e a percepção que o uso da linguagem natural leva a uma maior adesão às necessidades do cliente. O estudo destaca outras expectativas podem ser confirmadas com fatores de influência para a Argentina, mas não para o Brasil.

Contexto: A Simplicidade é uma variável com influência direta no sucesso do desenvolvimento ágil de software.&#13;
A mesma é apresentada como um dos principais fatores que tem despertado nas grandes corporações o desejo de adotar a agilidade em seus processos de desenvolvimento de software.&#13;
Objetivo: Esta pesquisa visa identificar, mensurar e qualificar o conhecimento produzido sobre simplicidade no contexto do Desenvolvimento Ágil de Software (DAS). Método: Um Mapeamento Sistemático da Literatura (MSL) foi conduzido, a fim de revelar evidências e construir conhecimento através dos estudos primários. Resultados: A partir do conjunto inicial de 4627 artigos, 10 estudos foram selecionados e categorizados.&#13;
Baseado nisso, identificamos que a adaptação de metodologia é um dos principais fatores que leva a simplicidade em DAS.&#13;
Além disso, 8 benefícios de simplicidade foram identificados.&#13;
Conclusão: A julgar pelo baixo número de publicações na última década, identificamos que mais estudos são necessários para uma melhor compreensão do fenômeno de simplicidade em DAS. Entretanto, essa pesquisa trouxe uma visão abrangente do cenário mundial sobre o tema simplicidade em DAS, bem como gerou direcionamentos a serem explorados em trabalhos futuros.

Virtualization has been around much of the history of computing -from the introduction of virtual memory to virtualization at the operating system level and containers. The use of containers as a deployment tool has boomed since the release of Docker as free software in 2013. Docker includes a large set of tools ranging from building and executing containers on a single node to managing multiple containers in clusters. However, the distribution of deployment descriptors and of maintenance scripts is not properly addressed. This work introduces the mechanisms provided by Docker and describes a practice developed by the Bitlogic team for the deployment and management of the container lifecycle.

En el ámbito de la Ingeniería de Software, en general los requisitos se clasifican en dos grandes grupos: funcionales y no funcionales. Sin embargo, cuando se trata de desarrollos de aplicaciones web, se deben considerar otros elementos de interés, por lo que se atienden requisitos de contenido, de navegación, de interfaces con el usuario y de evolución de la aplicación. Además, necesitan cumplir con requisitos de calidad como son usabilidad, confiabilidad, mantenimiento, entre otros. A las aplicaciones web se las categoriza según sus funcionalidades. Diferentes autores clasifican a las aplicaciones Web de distintas maneras, considerando variados criterios. Definir los requisitos considerando la categoría de aplicación web puede resultar muy beneficioso. En base a esto se construyó una Taxonomía de Requisitos para aplicaciones web y en este trabajo se muestra esta Taxonomía y su aplicación, a modo de ejemplo, en un caso concreto. La taxonomía resultó útil durante la fase de Ingeniería Requisitos, fase primordial en el proceso de producción de software, ya que se enfoca en la definición de lo que se desea producir. Fue posible, además, acelerar la identificación de requisitos previa identificación de los objetivos del cliente y del tipo de aplicación web que se pretendía desarrollar.

Software quality is defined as a set of characteristics that the final product should satisfy to meeting the users needs.&#13;
Despite the increase of its importance, especially in the last two decades, projects still fail frequently because they don’t deliver the required quality standards, making many systems quickly obsolete or useless. In this context, maturity models such as the CMM, CMMI and MPS.Br, at national level, were proposed to help companies evaluate and improve their software process. One problem with these models is that they don’t provide adequate attention to testing processes which represent one of the most expensive tasks of the life cycle of a system. This paper presents the results of a systematic review conducted to assess the state of art about TMMi and MPT.Br maturity models, proposed to cover the gap of traditional models regarding the testing process, and their impact in the management of software projects by organizations. The results presented in this article demonstrate that use of TMMi and MPT.Br in addition to other maturity models can bring significant improvements to organizations in the software projects managment, improving the quality of products developed and customer satisfaction.

Multiple techniques exist for performing authentication such as text passwords and smart cards. Multi-factor authentication combines two or more of these techniques in order to enhance security. It is of interest to know what the current research on these authentication techniques is and what comparison and selection criteria exist that help in the decision of these techniques. A systematic literature review is performed in order to obtain the desired knowledge. Moreover, the found comparison and selection criteria are analyzed and organized in order to generate a list of criteria that can be used to help in the decision of authentication techniques in different situations. The results of this research help to cover the gap in literature that could be observed through literature, which is the lack of works that focus on the comparison and selection of authentication techniques.

Context: The progress of Information and Communication Technologies has greatly promoted the relationships among people of different geographical regions. Under this novel context, new settings of software development arise, known as virtual teams, a team of geographically dispersed developers.&#13;
Objective: to assess the impact of virtual team’s interper-sonal trust on software development process.&#13;
Method: We conducted a systematic mapping study of peer-reviewed literature up to August 2016.&#13;
Results: We reviewed 41 primary studies. Some highlights are that virtual team effectiveness is the most affected aspect by the lacking of interpersonal trust, while face-to-face meeting is the most mentioned work strategy to mitigate this problem.&#13;
Conclusions: This study corroborates the impact of interpersonal trust on virtual software development teams. We identified some work strategies but few advanced tools to mitigate the problems derived from the lack of interpersonal trust.

La automatización de la medición del tamaño funcional es un reto para la industria del software. Una solución automatizada de conteo no es trivial, debido a que debe proporcionar un nivel aceptable en la exactitud de las mediciones de acuerdo a los estándares de la industria. En este artículo se presenta una herramienta prototipo para la medición del tamaño funcional para aplicaciones de software modeladas en un marco de trabajo para desarrollo llamado FastWorks. El estudio detalla la arquitectura del maco de trabajo y del componente de medición, el diseño de las reglas de mapeo y conteo del procedimiento de medición basado en el método IFPUG FPA y la validación de los resultados del conteo de puntos de función ob-tenidos por la herramienta.

En este artículo se presenta una herramienta prototipo para la medición del tamaño funcional para aplicaciones de software modeladas en un marco de trabajo para desarrollo llamado FastWorks. El estudio detalla la arquitectura del maco de trabajo y del componente de medición, el diseño de las reglas de mapeo y conteo del procedimiento de medición basado en el método IFPUG FPA y la validación de los resultados del conteo de puntos de función ob-tenidos por la herramienta.</dc:description>

Aspect-oriented business process modeling (AOBPM) is an emerging discipline which has recently attracted the attention of researchers and professionals. In 2014, Amin Jalali reviewed the state of the art of AOBPM and proposed a framework to assess the available approaches. We have developed AOP4ST, an aspect-oriented process for the software development life cycle, which includes the business process modeling as its first phase, and which follows the Jalali’s recommendations. In this paper, we present the assessment of the AOP4ST’s business modeling capability by comparing it with all of the original proposals assessed by Jalali’s framework. Finally, we present ongoing work for the improvement of our approach on its AOBPM capabilities and its ability to detect and separate concerns at early stages of the development.

In recent years, the expansion of the World Wide Web, and web runtimes in particular, to all kind of devices has rendered the JavaScript performance in a hot topic. Several approaches to improve the performance of JavaScript applications have been tried by the industrial and research communities. In this paper we review the most popular approaches and propose a novel solution based on meta-programming and source code rewriting. The preliminary results of our experiments are very promising, although more studies are required to know to what extent this approach can improve the performance of real-life JavaScript programs.

La Televisión Digital interactiva (TVDi) es una tecnología de transmisión digital de contenidos televisivos que, implica grandes cambios; mejoras en la calidad de audio, video, software, datos y nuevas formas de acceso y de interacción con el televidente. El avance de la implementación de la TVDi refleja una notable ausencia de software y, necesidad de enfoques para el proceso de desarrollo en este dominio a nivel industrial. Por otro lado, se presenta el problema de usabilidad, para ello se estudian patrones de diseño de interacción centrados en el usuario. La implementación de una Línea de Productos de Software que permita generar producto para este dominio es una solución que este trabajo aborda. Tomando como estrategia un conjunto de patrones de diseño de interacción, se diseña el modelo de características, el cual es soportado por la herramienta SPL-TVDi, que ha sido construida como parte de este trabajo. Además se presenta un caso de estudio.

A lo largo del desarrollo de distintos simuladores en CITEDEF se ha ido resolviendo de manera reiterativa distintas soluciones a la medida de cada proyecto. SimulationTools surgió como una síntesis de distintas experiencias recabadas en algunos proyectos de manera de ofrecer soluciones flexibles y poderosas a estos problemas. SimulationTools se ofrece como una colección de bibliotecas desarrolladas en C++. Para su desarrollo se puso especial cuidado en las mejores prácticas del paradigma de programación orientada a objetos, de gestión de proyectos y documentación. Proyectos que sigan esta línea de trabajo podrán disponer de servicios para configuración flexible de aplicación mediante archivos XML, establecimiento de conexiones, roles y comunicaciones para aplicaciones distribuidas, captura simplificada de dispositivos de entrada como joysticks, volantes y otros específicos desarrollados a medida, gestión de eventos de simulación, agentes autónomos con comportamiento de alto nivel incorporados a un motor de simulación flexible, distribución de eventos entre múltiples nodos y sonido espacial con efecto Doppler consistente entre los distintos nodos de la aplicación, sin tener que lidiar con cuestiones de implementación relacionadas a estas funcionalidades.

In this work we show a technique to implement a quality management system for software development companies which complies with the ISO 9001 standard and also with agile development methodologies. We show how the principles of ISO 9001 have much in common with Agile principles, and how both of them can be combined to get improved results. In particular, we show a way to implement Peer Reviews as an extension of the audit concept, ensuring compliance with the ISO 19011 standard. We also discuss how the practices “inspect” and “adapt”, from agile methodology, are related to the Plan–Do–Check– Act (PDCA) Deming cycle. We evaluate our approach analyzing the experience in two software enterprises who obtained their ISO 9001:2008 certification while using Agile methodologies.&#13;
We conclude that peer reviews are an excellent tool for training and the audit process, where experienced people can be easily involved. We think that our approach is suitable without any major adjustments for the 9001:2015 version.
