The purpose of the following work will be to analyze and propose a possible reading from the theory of emotional development in Donald Winnicott in relation to central concepts in the psychic constitution. We propose, on this occasion, a reflection on doing, creating and playing in current times, as part of a broader research work to which we belong. We refer to the research project: “El jugar como actividad sublimatoria. Symbolization processes in children and adolescents from the city of La Plata: An exploratory study'], research carried out by the chairs of Evolutionary Psychology I and Clinical Psychology of Children and Adolescents of the UNLP's School of Psychology.
Mobilized by the observation and analytical listening of the current presentations in the clinic with children, in this communication we will attempt to make a first approach to the playing theory and the conception of creation (creative apperception - creator impulse - transitionality) of the aforementioned author, theory that he develops in his book Playing and reality (1972).
When can we say ‘a child is playing'? What are the conditions for thinking about playing as the promoter of the individual's health? How to recognise the updating, manifestation of the psychoanalytic path in the current ‘productions' of the playing? Considering these questions, we will analyze the interaction between the clinical fact and its foundations, trying to locate the validity of Winnicott's contribution to the current state of the discipline between theory and clinical work.
