NGC 2354: a moderately metal-poor open cluster in Canis Major

Abstract

New UBV, DDO and CMT₁T₂ photometric data of stars in NGC 2354 demonstrate that the duster red giant branch is consistent with that predicted by models with mass loss and moderate overshooting. The cluster metallicity ([Fe/H] = -0.33 ± 0.07) is compatible with the existence of a chemical composition gradient in the disc.
