Nuevas estrategias para el estudio de la actividad estelar desde CASLEO

Abstract

En el marco del proyecto HKα, se estudia sistemáticamente 150 estrellas dF a dM con el espectrógrafo REOSC DC, montado en el telescopio JS en CASLEO. Sin embargo, este relevamiento insume hasta 20 noches anuales completas de observación. Con el objetivo de disminuir los tiempos de observación, así como también de estudiar la actividad en estrellas con V > 12 mag, en este trabajo se analiza una nueva estrategia observacional, donde se utiliza el REOSC DS con la red de 1200 1/mm destinado sólo a observar las líneas del Ca II. Se presenta una intercalibración entre los índices de Mount Wilson obtenidos con ambas configuraciones. De esta manera, se podrán incorporar las observaciones con el REOSC DS a la amplia base de datos del proyecto HKα.

Under the HKα project, 150 dF to dM stars are systematically studied with the REOSC DC spectrograph, mounted on the JS telescope at CASLEO. However, this survey requires 20 full observing nights per year. In order to reduce the observation times, as well as to study the activity of stars with V > 12 mag, a new observational strategy is analyzed. In this work, the REOSC DS is used with the 1200 1/mm grating covering only the Ca II lines and the continuum nearby. An intercalibration between the Mount Wilson indices obtained with both configurations is presented. In future works, the longlist spectra will be incorporated into the extensive database of the HKα project.
