SATI-Q: 20 años de historia, evolución y perspectivas hacia el futuro

Abstract

El Programa SATI-Q se originó como un registro voluntario de monitoreo de indicadores de calidad (Quality Benchmarking) con el objetivo de optimizar el desempeño de las Unidades de Cuidados Intensivos en Argentina. El primer informe se presentó en el año 2003 para Unidades de Adultos, y desde el año 2005 se incluyeron las Unidades Pediátricas. Desde entonces, sin interrupciones, se mantuvieron los informes anuales y las actualizaciones periódicas del software, hasta lograr en el año 2022 crear un recurso FHIR HL7 para que las unidades pudieran participar de forma interoperable. Con más de 150 Unidades reportando datos, más de 250 mil registros analizables entre internaciones de adultos y pediátricos, queremos mostrar la evolución de estos indicadores, contar los desafíos del programa para mantenerse durante el tiempo y las innovaciones para el futuro (incluyendo el uso de datos para inteligencia artificial) que nos permitirán continuar avanzando luego de los primeros 20 años de historia.

The SATI-Q Program was created as a voluntary register for monitoring quality indicators with the aim of optimising the performance of Intensive Care Units (ICUs) in Argentina. The first report, constructed from data from ICUs, was released in 2003. Paediatric ICUs have been included in the Program in 2005. Since then, without interruptions, annual reports and periodic updates of the software were maintained. By 2022, a FHIR HL7 resource had been created so that the units could participate in an interoperable manner. With more than 150 Units reporting data, more than 250 thousand analysable records between adult and paediatric hospitalisations, we want to present the evolution of these indicators, the challenges of the programme to be sustained over time and the innovations for the future (including the use of data for artificial intelligence) that will allow us to continue moving forward after the first 20 years of history.
