Urbanismo con perspectiva de género: características y su desarrollo en América Latina y Argentina

Abstract

Este texto se propone esbozar el estado de la cuestión en torno a la relación entre urbanismo y perspectiva de género presentando algunos rasgos característicos de su desarrollo en el contexto local (regional y nacional). El urbanismo con perspectiva de género comienza dentro de una tradición europea y norteamericana y exhibe, a partir de allí, una expansión teórica y práctica más allá de ese contexto original. Uno de esos nuevos escenarios en los que se despliega esta perspectiva del urbanismo es el de América Latina y Argentina. Especialmente atendiendo a esto último, la propuesta de este trabajo es (i) caracterizar el urbanismo con un enfoque de género; (ii) identificar algunos de los factores condicionantes más significativos para el surgimiento de esta peculiar imbricación; y (iii) delimitar algunos rasgos de la instanciación de este nuevo perfil del urbanismo en el contexto de la región y del país.

This text aims to outline the state of the art regarding the relationship between urbanism and gender perspective, presenting some characteristic features of its development in the local (regional and national) context. Urbanism with a gender perspective begins within a European and North American tradition and, from there, exhibits a theoretical and practical expansion beyond that original context. One of those new scenarios in which this perspective of urbanism is deployed is that of Latin America and Argentina. Especially taking into account the latter, the proposal of this work is (i) to characterize urbanism with a gender approach; (ii) identify some of the most significant conditioning factors for the emergence of this peculiar imbrication; and (iii)delimit some features of the instantiation of this new urban profile in the context ofthe region and the country.
