Caracterización de materia orgánica mediante reflectancia y espectroscopía raman

Abstract

Se estudiaron de manera comparativa los macerales inertinita y vitrinita sobre una muestra de carbón mediante dos técnicas diferentes: Reflectancia y espectroscopía Raman, con el fin de evaluar su madurez y estimar el grado de equivalencia entre las dos técnica utilizadas. En el grupo de la vitrinita se obtuvieron valores de reflectancia media, mientras que en la inertinita los resultados dieron una reflectancia alta. Esta diferencia también se reconoció en los espectros Raman a través de las características de los picos principales G y D. Los valores de %Ro medidos permitieron determinar el rango en que se encuentran las muestras de carbón, considerando que se ajustan al estadío de catagénesis, correspondiente a ventana de generación de petróleo. Se identificó una correlación entre las dos técni - cas, siendo posible reconocer el potencial de aplicar ambas metodologías de manera vinculada, ya que demostraron ser complementarias y aportan un mayor grado de confianza a los datos obtenidos por cada una de ellas de manera independiente.

Two macerals, inertinite and vitrinite, were studied on a sample of coal in a comparative way by two different techniques, reflectance and Raman spectroscopy, in order to evaluate their maturity and to estímate the degree of equivalence be - tween the two techniques. In the vitrinite group, the reflectance values obtained were moderate, while in the inertinite the results gave high reflectance values. This difference was also recognized in the Raman spectra with the characteristics of the main peaks G and D. The %Ro values measured allowed to determine the range in which the samples of coal are found, considering that it is in the stage of catagenesis, corresponding to window of generation of petroleum. The correlation between the two techniques is identified. It is possible to recognize the potential to apply both methodologies in a related way, since they prove to be complementary and contribute to a greater degree of confidence to the data obtained by each of them independently.
