The aim of this work is to reproduce numerically the phenomenon of flutter resulting from the fluid-structure interaction (FSI) in a wing previously built and experimentally tested in the wind tunnel at the Laboratorio de Capa Límite y Fluidodinámica Ambiental (LaCLyFA), Facultad de Ingeniería (UNLP). The wing geometry was draw and structural simulations were carried out with ANSYS MECHANICAL, comparing results obtained with solid elements and structural elements of type beam and shell. Natural modes and frequencies were obtained with good agreement with experimental measurements. Then, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations were performed, using the ANSYS FLUENT in order to study the steady fluid-structure interaction, that is, the static elastic deformations due to aerodynamic loads in the absence of flutter. Both one- and two way coupling analysis were implemented. In the latter, at each time step, the displacement of the mesh nodes due to the deformation of the structure at the fluid-structure interface is considered, and the fluid dynamic field is updated for the deformed wing geometry.
