Las clases populares hoy

Abstract

Este ensayo explora la actualidad de las clases populares en Argentina. Enfatiza las relaciones entre mercado, Estado y tramas de reciprocidad en los vínculos de interdependencia social que configuran a los sectores populares hoy. Para ello parte de un antiguo texto de síntesis y sitúa su atención en los procesos de erosión y desgaste de las tramas sociales populares. Recorre las transformaciones de las interacciones entre Estado y clases populares después del 2001, la expansión de diversas formas sociales del mercado, las distancias y desavenencias entre mundo y campo popular y la aceleración de dichos procesos durante y después de la pandemia.

This essay explores the current condition of the popular classes in Argentina. It emphasizes the relationships between the market, the state, and networks of reciprocity within the bonds of social interdependence that shape these sectors today. To do so, it draws on an earlier synthetic text and focuses on the processes of erosion and weakening of popular social networks. It traces the transformations in the interactions between the state and the popular classes after 2001, the expansion of diverse social forms of the market, the distances and tensions between the popular world and the popular field, and the acceleration of these processes during and after the pandemic.
