Objetos de aprendizaje: un framework para su creación, basado en la metodología CROA

Abstract

Los Objetos de Aprendizaje (OAs) son un tipo particular de Material Educativo Digital (MED), la reutilización es su principal característica fundante. Se espera que los OAs puedan ser reutilizados en contextos educativos distintos al de origen (reutilización pedagógica) y en diversos entornos tecnológicos (reutilización tecnológica). En el concepto de OA se entrelazan dos dimensiones que deben considerarse al momento de crear este tipo de MEDs: la pedagógica (composición interna del OA y granularidad) y la tecnológica (estándares de metadatos y empaquetamiento). En este punto, los docentes deben enfrentarse al uso de herramientas que no suelen ser exclusivas para OAs, o si lo son, no abordan todas las etapas de un proceso metodológico (suelen centrarse en el desarrollo, pero no ofrecer guías de análisis y diseño) y su manejo es poco intuitivo; área de vacancia relevante. Se vislumbra la necesidad de herramientas para la creación de OAs basadas en metodologías actuales y efectivas, que permitan llevar a cabo cada una de las etapas del proceso completo y resulten amigables para cualquier docente. Por tal motivo, se propone el diseño y desarrollo de un framework que guíe amigablemente la creación de OAs a partir de una metodología específica, que además incluya estándares de metadatos y empaquetamiento, se vincule con la posibilidad de publicación de los OAs en un repositorio y considere la preparación del OA para su posterior ensamblaje (aspecto central en el paradigma). Un framework con estas características acerca nuevas posibilidades en la creación de MEDs reutilizables con impacto en el escenario educativo actual. Objetivo general Investigar y desarrollar metodologías y herramientas informáticas para el diseño y la creación de OAs. Objetivos específicos Investigar metodologías de diseño de OAs en el ámbito nacional e internacional.Investigar herramientas que permitan llevar adelante la creación de OAs respetando las metodologías estudiadas.Desarrollar un prototipo funcional de framework para la creación de OAs que considere un modelo metodológico acorde a las necesidades de los docentes de nuestro país.Evaluar el framework desarrollado a partir de un estudio de caso.

Learning Objects (LOs) are a specific type of Digital Educational Material (DEM), and reuse is their defining characteristic. LOs are expected to be reusable in educational contexts other than their original one (pedagogical reuse) and in various technological environments (technological reuse). The concept of LO encompasses two intertwined dimensions that must be considered when creating this type of DEM: the pedagogical dimension (internal composition of the LO and granularity) and the technological dimension (metadata standards and packaging). At this point, teachers must grapple with tools that are not typically designed exclusively for LOs—or, if they are, they do not address all stages of a methodological process (they tend to focus on development but do not offer guidance on analysis and design)—and their use is not very intuitive; this represents a significant gap in the field. There is a growing need for tools to create LOs based on current and effective methodologies, which enable the completion of each stage of the entire process and are user-friendly for any instructor. For this reason, it’s proposed that the design and developmentof a framework that provides user-friendly guidance for creating LOs based on a specific methodology, which also includes metadata and packaging standards, links to the possibility of publishing LOs in a repository, and considers the preparation of the LO for subsequent assembly (a central aspect of the paradigm). A framework with these characteristics opens up new possibilities for the creation of reusable DEMs that can have an impact on the current educational landscape. General objective: To research and develop methodologies and software tools for the design and creation of LOs. Specific objectives: Investigate LOs design methodologies at the national and international levels. Investigate tools that enable the creation of LOs in accordance with the methodologies studied 3. Develop a functional prototype of a framework for creating LOs that incorporates a methodological model tailored to the needs of teachers in our country4. Evaluate the developed framework through a case study.
