Creencias científicas y religiosas: diferencias entre académicos de universidades públicas y privadas

Abstract

Cuando se estudia la historia de la humanidad no cabe duda de la importancia que las creencias han tenido en su desarrollo; y no hay conducta humana que no se encuentre constituida por ellas. Éstas son convicciones que no siempre son conscientes, pero que le permiten al ser humano manejarse en el mundo; forman la base de la vida, el terreno sobre que acontece; en ellas se vive, se mueve y se es (Ortega y Gasset, 1968; Pepitone, 1991). En su intento de tratar de comprender y explicar el origen de la vida, la naturaleza humana y las relaciones con su entorno, el hombre ha creado una serie de aproximaciones de corte religioso, científico y filosófico, aproximaciones que se apoyan en su sistema de creencias. El estudio de las creencias es uno de los marcos más utilizados en la psicología social para explicar el comportamiento humano. Las investigaciones científicas respecto al origen de la vida y naturaleza humana presentan controversias en torno a la compleja relación entre ciencia y religión (Gould, 2000). De este hecho, surgió la necesidad de investigar, vía las creencias, ¿cuáles son las creencias que tienen los académicos de universidades públicas y privadas respecto al origen de la vida y la naturaleza humana?

From this fact, it became necessary to investigate, via beliefs, what are the beliefs that have the academic public and private universities regarding the origin of life and human nature are?
