Saneamiento y embellecimiento en la definición espacial de la ciudad

Abstract

Saneamiento y embellecimiento constituyen caras armónicas dentro de las transformaciones urbanas. Para que el saneamiento prospere, se incorpore al conjunto social, se recurre al complemento argumental del embellecimiento como consecuencia asociada y natural. Es en este punto en el que, unido a distintas representaciones colectivas, el dispositivo de saneamiento se constituye, además de instrumento ordenador de la sanidad de la ciudad, como parte de un aparato, de su dimensión estética o formal y consecuentemente en un elemento central de configuración y caracterización de sectores urbanos. El saneamiento comportaría así, además del orden y la salubridad del conjunto urbano, el embellecimiento y la sectorización urbanística, une pero caracteriza y separa. Estas condiciones permiten plantear una investigación histórica donde las resultantes estéticas de ciertos componentes de saneamiento se constituyen en intervenciones urbanísticas relevantes, y principalmente se procura desarrollar aquí, con nuevos elementos interpretativos, hipótesis alternativas sobre sus lógicas en la ciudad.

Sanitation and embellishment make up the harmonic sides into the urban transformation. In order for sanitation to thrive and insert itself into the social ensemble, the argumentative complement of urban embellishment is resorted to as its associated and natural consequence. It is at this point when, united with different collective representations, the sanitation device is made up, both as an ordering instrument of the health of the town, as well as part of a machine, of its aesthetic or formal dimension and, consequently, in a key element of the configuration and characterization of urban sectors. Thus, besides the order and health of the urban ensemble, sanitation would also entail the urban embellishment and parceling; it brings together while it characterizes and divides. These conditions allow the start of a historic research work to be proposed here, where the formal resultants and aesthetic transformations of certain sanitation components become relevant urban interventions and, mainly, it is tried here to develop, with new interpretative elements, alternative hypothesis about its logics in the town.
