By using a ethno-astronomical perspective, and based on our own ethnographic and documentary work, we study the relationships with the sky built in the context of religious phenomena of the socio-cultural life of European immigrants and their descendants settled from the second half of the nineteenth century until the midtwentieth century, in the central-north of the Argentine province of Santa Fe during the process of colonization of southern Argentine Chaco region.
Por otro lado, se identifica el posible uso de métodos magnéticos para obtener la orientación de estas iglesias.; The landscape of Ibiza and Formentera is characterized by the conspicuous churches both in cities and in the fields. Until relatively recent times they were one of the main elements that created the insular landscape. The study of their orientation allows to identify several interesting phenomena. It is possible that some of the oldest churches, built a few decades after the Christian conquest, reflect orientations of previous buildings, notably mosques. In addition, the study of the churches intensively built during the XVIIIth century identifies two notable phenomena. On the one hand, the division of the island into two sectors. The north one, with orientations of the churches that follow the canonical precepts, and a southern sector, with orientations close to the meridian line. Possibly this division in the south is motivated by the need to build churches near the transit routes to facilitate their entry when used as spaces of refuge against the frequent Berber attacks. On the other hand, we identify the possible use of magnetic methods to obtain the orientation of these churches.

Este último par de fechas están relacionadas con una cuenta lunar de seis meses o 177 días.; More than 600 petroglyphs and at least 13 pecked crosses have been found in the surroundings of the La Luz dam (by its name in Spanish) (Esparza y Rodríguez, 2018).
However, our work will be focused on the analysis of the PLU 3 and PLU 4 pecked crosses which are in the dam’s north shore. Both pecked crosses consist in two concentric semicircles divided by four arms. The astronomical orientation analysis shows a solar alignment for the east arm (30th March and 12th September) and for the west arm (5th March and 7th October). As we can see, these last dates are very close to the 73 family of Mesoamerican orientations. Meanwhile, the PLU 4’s west arm points out to the spring and summer equinox Sun’s rise and the west arm shows a solar alignment at the 27th March and 14th September’s sunset. This last pair of solar alignments are related to a lunar count of six months.

In this paper we will analyze an “espiral doble-pocito” (Espiral 1) which is carved at the dem’s north shore over a set of petroglyphs called the Planchón Principal (Esparza y Rodriguez, 2018). The Espiral 1’s arms are orientated east-west and they part from one central point clearly defined. The Espiral 1´s astronomical orientation analysis revealed solar alignment for the East Arm (14th April and 28th August) and for the West Arm (26th February and 13th October). Particularly, the 26th February corresponds to one of the pairs of the 65 astronomic-calendar orientations family.
