<title>Una sugerencia relativa a la inflación argentina</title>
<link>http://sedici.unlp.edu.ar:80/handle/10915/8950</link>
<description>Articulo
Económica; vol. 12, no. 37
Proposes to relate national currency to the price of gold as divisor of everything, in the same way as some entities have been applying up to now when they have to measure wages and salaries by means of indexes or inflation factors. He refers to the "point" system used for the periodical adjustment of salaries of the Argentine teachers. Comments on the example given by a commercial enterprise of a nexus to a strong coin and the experience of a public service extensible to others than its own system. He also points out the error arising from measuring the price variation of a possession with reference to the index of wholesale prices from which new relative prices (or "points") result with no calculated unity. He is strongly against the generalization of the "point" system or indexes of different dimensions as in the case of the bringing up to date the value of pension assignments.

<title>Desarrollo industrial y sector externo: Propuesta de un criterio de evaluación y de una metodología para determinar una estrategia de sustitución de importaciones</title>

<description>Articulo

This is a problem of macroeconomic decision concerning the assignment of resources in purely economic objectives. Once the field of the subject is axiologically delimited, the author analyses all possible pattern to point out the maximum of its efficiency showing the concept of added value as a measure of the social utility of assignations. The problem thus stated, proposed to make use of the lineal programmation as a method for planning and resolving problems bringing out the versatility of this technique when considering a large variety of situation and restrictions. Then, he takes into account the possibility of remarking the limits of validity in the initial solution when it faces changes in problem data by means of alteration of restrictions. The author examines the virtue of lineal programmation, that of enhancing the boundaries of "best" thought modification of the added values, making thus possible the measurement of future political influences on prices. Finally he states that quantitative solutions must always be taken as suggestions which only show a region of possible combinations, and that the final decision must emerge once all the social and political imponderable have been considered verifying if the solution of the problem fits the meta-economic values.
Trabajo presentado en la II Reunión Internacional de Economía (Córdoba, 1966).

<title>Relaciones de intercambio, beneficios del comercio y bienestar económico</title>

In certain circles of economists who write on international commerce and development there exists a firmly-rooted and rather widespread belief that the terms of trade of merchandise constitute an adequate indicator of the amount and direction of the resulting benefits. Likewise it is thought to be a suitable instrument for objective evaluation of the changes in economic welfare associated with variations in commerce. One of the objectives of this paper is to try to demonstrate how little satisfactory said theories are. In addition, the author maintains that no complete estimate of the implications on economic welfare involved by international trade and its changes could be made by taking into consideration solely and individually certain details of the problem of terms of trade. The author takes a clear stand against any pattern of theory trying to chart the future course of terms of trade of merchandise by basing itself on the premise that the future necessarily has to be fairly similar to the present.
