<link>http://sedici.unlp.edu.ar:80/handle/10915/9313</link>
<description>Comunicacion
Económica; vol. 32, no. 1
La famosa descomposición de Slutsky del cambio en la cantidad demandada de un bien por una modificación de un precio en los efectos sustitución e ingreso es una de las proposiciones fundamentales del análisis económico moderno. El hecho de que haya sido enunciada hace más de setenta años no le ha quitado ni interés ni utilidad.&#13;

<title>Precios relativos, dinero e inflación en Argentina</title>

La relación entre precios relativos y la tasa de inflación corre en ambas direcciones.; This issue studies the temporal precedence between changes in relative prices, in the quantity of Money and in the price level, through the econometric technique known as Autorregression Vectors. The results are the same as those obtained by the author with bivaried models, in the sense that innovations in the quantity of money have temporal precedence in respect to those at the inflation during the period 1959-72, while after that date the temporal order is reversed. The relation between relative prices and the rate of inflation runs in both directions.

Se consideran resultados previos obtenidos por Gravelle (1982) y Fissinger y Vogelsang (1982).; The work studies the use of managerial bonus schemes in public enterprises, designed by a principal (Ministry) to provide incentives for managerial (cost-reducing) as well as allocative (pricing) efficiency. The Ministry can measure the demand function and obtain information about costs (but no the cost function), profits, prices and quantities. It is shown that the Ministry solves both problems offering the Manager a contract that adopts a "pure-rent" or "lump-sum" form, i. e. It pays him the sum of consumer and producer surpluses less a fee. This result is extended to the case when the Ministry does not possess information about demand. Previous results obtained by Gravelle (1982) and Finisinger and Vogelsang (1982) are reconsidered.

<link>http://sedici.unlp.edu.ar:80/handle/10915/9310</link>
<description>Articulo
Económica; vol. 32, no. 1
This work presents an stochastic version of a two-goods economy general equilibrium model with overlapping generations which has implications with regard to households' production, consumption and saving decisions and the behaviour of time series corresponding to relative commodity prices and quantities in an environment where the money supply follow, a first order Markov process. Even though a proof of existence of equilibrium for this economy is not provided, a set of functions that one hopes would satisfy equilibrium conditions imply that the model is consistent with positive (time series) correlations between the relative price of the durable good (in terms of the non-durable good) and the production an purchases of that good and with negative (time series) correlations between the relative price of the durable good and its rental price, the production of the non-durable good and the ratio of consumption of the non-durable good to the stock of the durable good. Also, it is found that variability in the rate of change of money supply may be accompanied by variability in equilibrium relative prices and quantities.

<description>Articulo

In this paper, we present a small econometric model and simulate with it some possible consequences of the Argentine monetary reform of June 14, 1985. First, we derive some theoretical properties of the nonlinear recursion model consisting of three equations. Second, results obtained when estimating this model by the ordinary least squares and the full information maximum likelihood method are presented. Finally, we use the estimated model for deterministic and stochastic ex ante predictions. The result is that a reduction of the deficit in the budget of the Argentine government which is financed by creating money is of paramount importance in order to stabilize the price level. If by February 1987, the horizon of the simulations, this deficit cannot be again reduced to 2.5 percent of the gross domestic product of or less, the stabilization of the Argentine currency appears to be impossible, while otherwise there exist prospects that the stabilization program will be successful.

Luego, la "variación de precio compensada" -equilibrio obtenido ajustando la renta para mantener la utilidad o la posibilidad de comprar la combinación primitiva- no debe confundirse con el efecto sustitución.; The "substitution term" of the equation results exclusively from the system obtained by derivating or differentiating the structural system of utility maximization with constant income; then, the "substitution term" is foreign to any income minimizing situation with constant utility, from which results an apparently identical expression with the "substitution term". In those utility functions examined was found that, given the optimizing nature of the system and that the position to which the substitution effect would lead would not be one of equilibrium, it would not be possible -by adjusting the income in order to eliminate the income effect- to keep such a position as the final solution to the affected change. Hence, the "price-compensating variation" – equilibrium obtained as a result of adjusting the income so as to keep the same utility or the possibility of buying the "old" bundle of goods- must no be confused with the substitution effect.
