<link>http://sedici.unlp.edu.ar:80/handle/10915/9372</link>
<description>Articulo
Económica; vol. 57
Con agentes heterogéneos, se pueden generar dilemas de política macroeconómica cuya resolución implicaría consideraciones distributivas.; We study second-best macroeconomic policies for open economies subject to intertemporal sustainability problems and where agents may face liquidity constraints. If the private sector has biased expectations of future incomes, fiscal policies could offset the consequent distortions, according to the nature and origin of those biases. When some agents confront liquidity constraints, there is a potential counter-cyclical role for policies that shift current disposable incomes. With heterogeneous agents, macroeconomic policies may be confronted with dilemmas whose resolution involves distributive considerations

<title>Contributions to social security in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay: densities, transitions and duration</title>

We use large panel databases coming from administrative records of Argentina, Chile and Uruguay to characterize the histories of contribution of the population. We compute three indicators: density of contribution, transition rates and duration of the spells of contribution and no contribution. The picture that emerges is worrisome. The density of contributions is low on average and pretty heterogeneous across the population. The spells of contribution are short and interruptions are frequent. Transition rates are higher at early ages and tend to decline later in life, indicating high turnover among young individuals.

<description>Articulo
Económica; vol. 57
The impact of agricultural policy in Argentina between 1933 and 1959 is discussed. The real equilibrium exchange rate is estimated for the purpose of estimating nominal and effective protection rates for wheat, corn and flax. During the years (1933-1940) and (1953-1955) the direct protection was positive due to price policies; rates then become negative due to the effects of trade policy. Indirect protection rates were negative throughout the period, for which total protection rates were also negative, with the highest values between the years 1946 and 1955.

<description>Articulo

This paper reviews the theoretical and empirical microeconomic literature on the effects of product market integration and internationalization of firms activities upon labor unions. It relates these issues to the European experience, indicating future lines of research in this field.

<title>Modelización y predicción de series de tiempo financieras utilizando redes neuronales</title>
<link>http://sedici.unlp.edu.ar:80/handle/10915/9368</link>
<description>Articulo
Económica; vol. 57
The purpose of this work is to model and predict Financials Time Series by using neural networks. In order to achieve this aim, a recurrent total neural network with two hidden layers has been chosen; one layer for the linear threshold function and the other for the arctangent function. The series used in this research paper are the MERVAL index (Argentina) and the DOW JONES (USA). These results are based on information obtained over a period that goes from 1995 to 2006. The presentation will deal with the comparison of alternative techniques and the results obtained by other research workers.
