Horno de barro: una imagen superviviente

Abstract

El horno de barro es un dispositivo que se utiliza para la cocción de los alimentos, su origen es rural y se rastrea con más de 5 000 años de historia. Sin embargo, al ser construido en contextos artísticos, logra correr el eje contemplativo de la mera cocción del alimento, para constituirse como un extraño mojón de implicancias políticas. Rastrear el origen de este artefacto y cruzarlo con otros planos de conocimiento nos remitirá a una imagen superviviente no solo a la crítica de la enseñanza colonial que lo omite, sino a un sistema axiológico del manejo del fuego y a un corpus valorativo de afectos y de resistencias, donde la disponibilidad del alimento nos conducirá inevitablemente a la equidad en su distribución como un bien público; o por el contrario, en su restricción por no proveerlo.

The clay oven is a device that is mostly used to cook food. Its rural origin goes back to more than 5000 years of history. However, if it´s built in artistic environments, it turns the contemplative axis of the mere cooking into a strange and politically involved landmark. Tracing the origin of this artifact, and crossing it with other knowledge plans, might point it as a surviving image reference. A reference which survived to the omission of colonial teaching criticism; and to an axiological system of fire management and even to a valuable corpus of affects and resistances. This is where the food access will inevitably lead us to equity distribution in terms of public good; or, on the contrary, in its restriction when it's not provided at all.
