SIGMA: una herramienta para la gestión del patrimonio audiovisual

Abstract

La investigación se enfoca en el desarrollo de un Sistema de Información para la Gestión y Manejo de Archivos Audiovisuales (SIGMA), adaptable a diversos tipos de archivos. Su objetivo principal es mejorar la organización, accesibilidad y preservación del contenido audiovisual digital en entornos institucionales y comerciales. El estudio busca identificar las mejores prácticas y tecnologías para integrarlas en SIGMA, optimizando así el almacenamiento, la recuperación y la manipulación de estos activos digitales. Se abordan desafíos críticos como la interoperabilidad, escalabilidad, preservación a largo plazo y seguridad. La carencia de sistemas específicos para contenido audiovisual es notable, especialmente considerando su creciente importancia en sectores como la educación, el entretenimiento y la cultura. Una gestión eficiente de estos archivos no solo puede aumentar la productividad, sino también contribuir significativamente a su preservación frente a desafíos tecnológicos y a la degradación digital. La relevancia cultural de estos archivos, reconocida por la UNESCO, subraya su valor como parte integral del patrimonio cultural nacional y destaca la necesidad de fomentar una cultura de preservación y acceso.

The research focuses on the development of an Information System for the Management and Handling of Audiovisual Archives (SIGMA), adaptable to different types of files. Its main objective is to improve the organization, accessibility, and preservation of digital audiovisual content in institutional and commercial environments. The study seeks to identify best practices and technologies to integrate them into SIGMA, thus optimizing the storage, retrieval, and manipulation of these digital assets.
