Estudio de la actividad sísmica de la provincia de Tucumán

Abstract

Se investiga la actividad sísmica de la provincia de Tucumán, a partir de datos provenientes de fuentes históricas: "Datos de esta dística sísmica" del Observatorio Meteorológico Argentino; libros y diarios locales; y con 57 años (1920-1977) de datos instrumentales obtenidos por el Observatorio de La Plata, el INPRES y la USCGS, de la región 25 y 29 LS y 64 y 67 LW. Estos datos son volcados en cartas de Epicentros y de profundidades y se analiza la distribución en profundidad y frecuencia. Se trazan curvas isosistas de sismos más representativos y se estudian intensidades máximas de algunos, para inferir magnitudes. Con ello se grafica la energía liberada por unidad de superficie y las intensidades máximas observadas.

The seismic activity of Tucumán is investigated on the data provided by historical's sources,"Data of seismic statistics” by the Argentine Meteorological Observatory, books and locals newspapers, and Instrumentals data for 57 years (1920-1977) provided by the La Plata Astronomical Observatory, by INPRES and by USCGS, for the region 25 and 29 LS and 64 and 67 LW. Epicenters and depth are mapped, and the distribution in depth and frecuency is analyzed. The isosismals curves of more important eventes were constructed and the greatest intensity of some of them were studied to infer magnitudes. With them, the energy released for unit of area and greatest intensity observed are drawn.
