Primer análisis espectroscópico del sistema de cúmulos globulares de NGC 4546

Abstract

Utilizando datos espectroscópicos obtenidos por el instrumento GMOS del Observatorio Gemini, pudimos analizar por primera vez un grupo de cúmulos globulares y una UCD asociados a la galaxia lenticular aislada NGC 4546. En este trabajo, se utilizó la técnica de ajuste espectral completo para estimar la velocidad radial de 14 objetos, así como los parámetros de poblaciones estelares (edad, metalicidad, abundancia de elementos a), con el fin de indagar acerca de la historia de la galaxia anfitriona.

Using spectroscopic data obtained by the GMOS instrument of the Gemini Observatory, we were able to analyze for the first time a group of globular clusters and a UCD associated with the isolated lenticular galaxy NGC 4546. In this work, the full spectral fitting technique was used to estimate the radial velocity of 14 objects, as well as their stellar population parameters (age, metallicity, α-element abundances), in order to inquire about the history of the host galaxy.
