Narratives in migration journalism seek to produce different approaches to the story of human mobility, because it is an important field to address the complexity of migratory movements, especially in border contexts. In view of the increase of Venezuelan migration, it is proposed to describe with a qualitative-documentary research, how is the proposed coverage of this social phenomenon from the content analysis of six journalistic guides and manuals referred to Colombia and Venezuela, since historically they have experienced migratory processes between both countries. In addition, in the current migratory context, Colombia is the receiving country with the largest number of Venezuelan migrants. After the analysis of the study categories (formal aspects; introduction, context or presentation; theoretical aspects; methodological aspects; recommendations for journalistic coverage and narrative and glossary), the findings are that among the theoretical aspects, pendular migration, human rights and creative narratives stand out. The texts studied refer to chronological aspects of Venezuelan migration to Colombia and highlight historical and geographical links. The general recommendations emphasize language, treatment of the migrant and migratory processes. It is concluded that the documents analyzed emphasize information sources and the development of new formats using multimedia and transmedia elements.
