Morfología del retablo barroco en Córdoba (España)

Abstract

El estudio de la cultura del Barroco plantea, en materia artística, el análisis y evolución del retablo, interesante manifestación y fiel reflejo de las circunstancias socioeconómicas, religiosas y culturales de la época. En él, quedaron expresados todos los códigos estéticos que adoptaron escultores, tallistas y entalladores, variando sus principales características en función del ámbito geográfico o escuela artística regional. En el presente trabajo analizaremos la dimensión artística que alcanzó el retablo barroco en la ciudad de Córdoba (España) durante el Seiscientos y gran parte del siglo XVIII, sus elementos integradores y principales ejemplos y maestros.

The study of Baroque culture raises, in the artistic field, the analysys and evolution of the altarpiece, an interesting manifestation and faithful refection of the social, religious and cultural events of the time. In it, the artistic languages adopted by sculptors and other artists were expressed, varying their main characteristics depending on the place or artistic school. In this work we will analyze the artistic dimension that the Baroque altarpiece achieved in the city of Cordova (Spain) during the 17th and 18th centuries, its integrating elements and main examples and artists.
