Cultura popular y desarrollo del boxeo profesional: el Luna Park durante el período 1970 – 1977

Abstract

El objetivo central que se persigue en este informe es analizar el nexo que hubo entre el Luna Park y la actividad boxística profesional durante el período 1970 - 1977,(1) al considerar en nuestro análisis los suplementos de la revista El Gráfico, los testimonios de dos ex boxeadores que estuvieron ligados al recinto, junto a una serie de aportes complementarios. Concluimos que, al llevarse adelante espectáculos pugilísticos de importante trascendencia y la preparación técnica de variados púgiles, tanto el boxeo como el Luna Park ocuparon un lugar destacado dentro de la cultura popular.

The central objective pursued in this report is to analyze the link that existed between Luna Park and professional boxing activity during the period 1970 - 1977,(1) by considering in our analysis the supplements of the magazine El Grafico, the testimonies of two former boxers who were linked to the venue, along with a series of complementary contributions. We conclude that, by carrying out boxing shows of important importance and the technical preparation of various fighters, both boxing and Luna Park occupied a prominent place within popular culture.
