The Wheel of Time, a serialized fantasy drama produced by Prime Video, reconfigures the traditional monomyth by centering female characters and, more specifically, their relationship to power. This article examines the series through the lens of cultural studies, focusing on three dominant social structures represented in its narrative: the matriarchal, the matrilineal, and those that actively subjugate or enslave women. Additionally, it identifies six archetypes of femininity articulated across the series: communal, separatist-feminist, priestly, traditional, tribal and revolutionary. Through a critical analysis of all twenty-four episodes released to date, the study argues that The Wheel of Time not only reimagines femininity within the fantasy genre but also foregrounds a complex negotiation of class dynamics embedded in its world-building.
