Evaluación del rendimiento y caracterización morfológica del fruto de cuatro cultivares de pimiento, en el cinturón hortícola platense

Abstract

La agroecología pone énfasis en fortalecer la agrobiodiversidad presente en los agroecosistemas a fin de potenciar las interrelaciones entre sus componentes biológicos (plantas y animales). En este sentido, las variedades locales se consideran un componente clave. El objetivo del trabajo es describir y evaluar características morfológicas del fruto de cuatro materiales diferentes de pimiento Capsicum annuum L., incluyendo una variedad local, cultivadas en el Cinturón Hortícola Platense, y analizar el comportamiento agronómico de cada material en un ambiente bajo cubierta y manejo agroecológico. La experiencia se realizó en un establecimiento productivo familiar de la zona. Se encontraron diferencias significativas respecto al peso promedio de los frutos y el rendimiento de frutos mayores a 200 gr para la variedad híbrida. Si bien el rendimiento promedio por planta no presentó diferencias significativas entre los materiales, el valor mayor fue alcanzado por la variedad local. El estudio arroja información útil a la hora de seleccionar un material para emprender un proceso productivo.

Agroecology emphasizes on strengthening the agrobiodiversity of agroecosystems, in order to enhance the interrelationships among their biological components (plants and animals). In this sense, local varieties are considered a key component. The objective of the work is to describe and evaluate the morphological characteristics of the fruit of four different materials of Capsicum annuum L. pepper, including a local variety, cultivated in the La Plata Horticultural Belt, and to analyze the agronomic behaviour of each material under protected culture and agroecological management. The experience was carried out in a family productive establishment in the area. Significant differences were found regarding the average weight of the fruits and the yield of fruits greater than 200 gr for the hybrid. Although the average yield per plant did not present significant differences between the materials, the highest value was reached by the local variety. The study yields useful information when selecting a material to undertake a production process.
