Las nuevas tecnologías pueden aumentar la transparencia de los presupuestos, las licitaciones públicas, la participación ciudadana y disminuir la corrupción, lo que a su vez le implica a la disciplina contable afrontar nuevos retos. Por ende, la investigación aborda los desafíos y oportunidades que presenta la automatización en la contabilidad, específicamente en relación con la inteligencia artificial. Para ello, se aplicó una metodología de investigación cualitativa fundamentada en un estudio de caso que incluyó la aplicación de entrevistas semiestructuradas y el análisis de la información generada por expertos en la temática. Los resultados indican que la automatización puede mitigar aspectos de anticorrupción. Además, otras de las oportunidades son el aumento en la eficiencia de la información contable, la reducción de errores y la mejora en la gestión de los datos contables. Sin embargo, las entrevistas también destacaron que la contabilidad enfrenta desafíos como aspectos éticos, de seguridad y de interpretación de resultados. En conclusión, se recomienda que las empresas y profesionales de la contabilidad se preparen para la implementación de la automatización y la inteligencia artificial, y que se siga investigando en este campo para mejorar la comprensión de sus implicaciones y beneficios, de lo contrario podrían generar riesgos de seguridad y privacidad, dependencia tecnológica, entre otros.

New technologies can increase the transparency of budgets, public tenders, citizen participation and reduce corruption, which in turn requires the accounting discipline to face new challenges. Therefore, the research addresses the challenges and opportunities presented by automation in accounting, specifically in relation to artificial intelligence. To this end, a qualitative research methodology was applied based on a case study that included the application of semi-structured interviews and the analysis of information generated by experts on the subject. The results indicate that automation can mitigate anti-corruption aspects, in addition to other opportunities is the increase in the efficiency of accounting information, reduction of errors and improvement in the management of accounting data, however, the interviews also highlighted that automation Accounting will face challenges such as ethical challenges, security challenges and interpretation of results. In conclusion, it is recommended that accounting companies and professionals prepare for the implementation of automation and artificial intelligence, and that further research be carried out in this field to improve understanding of its implications and benefits. Otherwise, they could generate security and privacy risks, technological dependency, among others.
