This work describes the geology of the Martinetas and Microondas mining projects, located in the eastem sector of the Deseado Massif, Province of Santa Cruz. During the detailed mapping of the area, cohe - rent volcanic units were identified, corresponding to domes, effusive events and dykes, from aphanitic to porphyric texture, leucocratic and rhyolitic composition, and pyroclastic units, represented by ignimbrites and pyroclastic breccias associated to Chon Aike Formation. They are intruded by dikes, sills and possibly cryptodomes with porphyritic to aphanitic texture, mesocratic to melanocratic, ofintermediate to basic composition, attributed to the Bajo Pobre Formation. Finally, all units are intruded by porphyric dykes of rhyolitic composition, belonging to the Chon Aike Formation. The interdigitation of volcanic and pyroclastic rocks of acid and intermediate compositions support the bi-modality of medium to higher Jurassic volcanism in the Deseado Massif and the inclusion of the same in the Bahía Laura Volcanic Complex.
