This article analyzes the role of women in local fishing, studying the experience of the riverside neighborhood of La Vuelta del Paraguayo (LVDP), in the city of Santa Fe, Argentina. In the division of labor in fisheries, men are the ones who commute to the island and stay there for days or weeks until they catch the fish and bait they need. However, within the entire fishing process, there are tasks that women perform that are not considered work, such as adding value to the fish and the care system that must be built to sustain the trade.
