Automatización mediante inteligencia artificial en el ámbito turístico: revisión de la literatura

Abstract

La progresión del turismo denota su relevancia no solo social, cultural y ambiental sino también como actividad económica que representa significativas transacciones de mercado. Paralelamente, la irrupción de la inteligencia artificial ha generado importantes repercusiones en la prestación de servicios turísticos. El objetivo del artículo es analizar la literatura vinculada a la automatización mediante inteligencia artificial en el turismo. El estudio es de tipo documental y presenta alcance descriptivo con enfoque mixto. Los datos se recolectan mediante fuentes secundarias obtenidas de ScienceDirect©. Los resultados indican que la principal tendencia de investigación es el desarrollo y/o la personalización de sistemas inteligentes y/o de recomendación turísticos, mediante artículos recientes, empíricos, cuantitativos, aplicados en China y que utilizan encuestas y entrevistas. Se concluye que la integración de tecnologías inteligentes conlleva beneficios, en términos de personalización y mejora del servicio, y desafíos para transformar competencias laborales y desarrollar marcos éticos y normativos adecuados.

The progression of tourism highlights its relevance not only from a social, cultural, and environmental perspective, but also as an economic activity involving significant market transactions. At the same time, the emergence of artificial intelligence has generated major impacts on the provision of tourism services. The purpose of this article is to analyze the literature related to automation through artificial intelligence in tourism. This is a documentary study with a descriptive scope and a mixed-methods approach. Data were collected from secondary sources obtained through ScienceDirect©. The findings indicate that the main research trend is the development and/or personalization of intelligent and/or tourism recommendation systems, as reflected in recent empirical, quantitative studies conducted in China, primarily using surveys and interviews. It is concluded that the integration of intelligent technologies offers benefits in terms of personalization and service improvement, while also posing challenges for transforming job skills and developing appropriate ethical and regulatory frameworks.
