Obras de Adolf Methfessel en el Museo de La Plata

Abstract

El trabajo tiene como objetivo estudiar un conjunto de obras del artista Adolf Methfessel pertenecientes a la colección del Museo de La Plata, focalizando en su estado de conservación y en las acciones de desmontaje, limpieza y guarda. En primera instancia, el artículo indaga en las características de las producciones, tales como su materialidad, temas y sus instancias de exhibición. Posteriormente, el trabajo propone el análisis diagnóstico del conjunto. Se describe la ficha confeccionada y los campos que la integran. El texto describe las acciones de conservación realizadas en las obras, incluyendo las tareas de desmontaje, limpieza, registro fotográfico y elaboración de guardas de primer y segundo nivel.

The objective of this work is to study a set of works by the artist Adolf Methfessel (Switzerland, 1836-1909) belonging to the collection of the La Plata Museum (Buenos Aires, Argentina), focusing on their state of conservation and the actions disassembly, cleaning and storage. In the first instance, the article investigates the characteristics of the productions, such as their materiality, the themes and the instances of their exhibition. Subsequently, the work proposes the diagnostic analysis of the set. For this, the prepared file and the fields that make it up are described. Finally, the text describes the actions carried out regarding the conservation of the works, including the tasks of disassembly, cleaning, photographic recording and preparation of first and second level endpapers.
