This paper presents progress on the project "Bio-environmental guidelines for the rehabilitation and opening to public use of the La Fidelidad ranch in El Impenetrable National Park, Chaco Province” (Project PDE_6_2024 SICYT UBA). The objective is to develop sustainable architectural and landscape intervention criteria that are compatible with the heritage, environmental, and intended use values of the site. Climate diagnostic tools and energy simulations are applied to evaluate the thermal and lighting performance of the building, along with an exhaustive graphic survey and an initial characterization of the vegetation, focused on its bioclimatic potential. An autonomous solar photovoltaic generation system is proposed and dimensioned to fit possible functional scenarios.
Within the framework of severe budgetary and operational restrictions resulting from the national economic crisis and the weakening of the Argentine science and technology system, the work allows for the construction of a solid initial technical and conceptual basis to guide future interventions. The results obtained confirm the validity of the approach adopted and its potential for transfer not only to National Parks and this case study, but also to other heritage or vernacular buildings in the same bioenvironmental zone in northern Argentina.
