This study analyzes the levelized cost of hydrogen transport (LCHT) for Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru, considering different transport capacities and distances. The objective is to determine and estimate the economies of scale for two storage technologies: steel and T300 epoxi containers. The results show that the LCHT varies significantly with distance. For 100 km, the cost ranges from 0,68 to 3.44 USD/kg; for 300 km, from 1,43 to 8 USD/kg; and for 1.000 km, from 3,99 to 24,01 USD/kg. The primary component of the LCHT, representing approximately half the cost, is human resources (driver salaries), followed by fuel costs and the investment in the trailer and pressure vessels. Strong economies of scale were found with steel containers and moderate-to-high economies with epoxi containers. However, these economies are limited by the maximum allowed weight of the truck-trailer combination. For short distances (100 and 300 km), the LCHT seems viable. However, for distances of 1.000 km, the LCHT is high, suggesting the need to explore more economical transport methods such as liquid hydrogen, pipelines, or derivatives. Finally, it's worth mentioning that the economic figures are valued in USD as of December 2022. If another reference is required, the sources and currency used should be reviewed.
