For this paper, the focus will be on how the ChatGPT tool and other chatbots can be used in university subject development, specifically in the fields of communication and social sciences. This limitation is due to the fact that when we talk about artificial intelligence, we refer to different technological devices that do not all perform the same functions. In this case, CHAT GPT was launched in November 2022 and belongs to the company OpenIA. Its emergence broadened and deepened certain debates around the uses we can give to these new technologies that permeate not only the fields of education and social sciences, but also our practices and our daily lives. First, we begin by understanding technology as a social, not a neutral, tool. Regarding this, Raymond Williams (1992) states that we should not think of this concept in isolation, but rather, as an integral part of societies and communities. Another author who can help us reflect on the use of these technologies in the formation of the university subject is Roger Silverstone (2004), who explains that when we talk about technologies we must think of them as enabling or disabling.
