In this Thesis the results of the study on the effects of pollution over invertebrates of the zoobenthic complex in streams of the Pampean plain are presented. Two lotic systems of the Buenos Aires plain were selected (Magdalena Municipality) that belong to the Rio de La Plata basin, the Juan Blanco and Buñirigo streams, with different grades of anthropogenic impact, the first one being included in a Biosphere Reserve arca. Over a period of two years, the physicochemical characteristics of shallow waters and the benthic invertebrates and those present in the vegetation, were assessed in samplings stations upstream (supposedly less impacted sites) and downstream in both lotic systems. The taxonomic and fimctional (feeding groups) composition of the invertebrate communities were analyzed, taxonomic, fimctional, and biotic indexes were applied and the relation between them and the registered variations in the physico-chemical parameters on a temporal and special scale was evaluated.
