La representación de intereses de la cúpula del sector agropecuario

Abstract

Es objetivo de este artículo abordar la representación de intereses de la cúpula agropecuaria argentina, luego de los cambios ocurridos desde fines del siglo XX. Para ello, se analiza la Sociedad Rural Argentina (SRA) entre 1996 y 2008. Sobre la base de datos cuantitativos, análisis de material institucional y entrevistas a dirigentes, socios e informantes clave, se constató que SRA exhibió un alto grado de inercia institucional. Ello le permitió permanecer como representante de la fracción más tradicional de la cúpula del agro argentino, a la vez que implicó la pérdida de centralidad representativa que tuvo durante buena parte del siglo XX.

This paper addresses the interest's representation of the agricultural economic elite in Argentina, after transformations ocured since the end of XX century. In order to acomplish that, the Argentinian Rural Society (SRA) is analyzed between 1996 and 2008. Based on quantitative data, institutional information and interviews with leaders, members and key informants, it can be showed that SRA exhibits a high degree of institutional inercia. This has allowed it to remain as representative of the most tradtional fraction in argentinian agricultural activity. At the same time, it supposed the lost of its centrality, which had been a distinctive characteristic of the SRA in most of the XX century.
