La técnica más utilizada es la rutina con hematoxilina - eosina, actualmente se agrega a la misma otras que contribuyen a clarificar el diagnóstico, por ejemplo la inmunohistoquímica, que en muchos casos determinará la estirpe de una neoplasia.
