Comunicar la investigación: notas para una “metamorfosis retórica” de mi tesis doctoral sobre el aborto

Abstract

Este artículo propone una reflexión –situada en mi propia experiencia– acerca del “lenguaje” que las/los cientistas sociales utilizamos para comunicar y difundir nuestras investigaciones. En esta dirección, el escrito se asume como un ensayo en el que pretendo tomar distancia de mi tesis doctoral sobre el tratamiento discursivo de la despenalización y legalización del aborto en Argentina. Este extrañamiento supone el desafío de transformar la tesis en un escrito menos academicista y más accesible a múltiples destinatarios, conservando las cualidades teóricas y metodológicas que le fueron valoradas. Asimismo, el artículo que aquí se presenta es una excusa pertinente para aproximar a las/los lectores a los que considero son los aportes y hallazgos más significativos de mi investigación. Pretensión comunicativa anclada, por cierto, en un contexto social y político en el que la problemática del aborto se encuentra en el centro de la agenda pública.

This article proposes a reflection - based on my own experience - about the “language” that social scientists use to communicate and disseminate our research. In this direction, the writing is assumed as an essay in which I intend to distance myself from my doctoral thesis on the discursive treatment of decriminalization and legalization of abortion in Argentina. This estrangement is the challenge of transforming the thesis into a less academic writing and more accessible to multiple recipients, preserving the theoretical and methodological qualities that were valued. Likewise, this article presented here is a pertinent excuse to approximate the readers I consider to be the most significant contributions and findings of my research. Communicative pretension anchored, by the way, in a social and political context in which the problem of abortion is at the center of the public agenda.
