Del margen al centro. De la construcción del aborto como un problema social al aborto como un derecho (1983-2018)

Abstract

En 2018 tuvo lugar en la Argentina el debate de una ley de interrupción legal del embarazo. La apertura sorpresiva la realizó unactor inesperado. No obstante, de la sorpresa emergió una enorme marea verde que puso en la calle a millones de manifestantesen pro de la legalización del aborto. Entre otras razones, por la mayor capacidad de respuesta del movimiento de mujeres y losfeminismos. El objetivo de este artículo es describir aquello que fue condición de posibilidad de este histórico debate. Y también,aquello que fue dando forma a lo que fue posible decir, los modos de decirlo, los argumentos, sus fundamentos y toda la historiaprevia sobre la demanda por aborto en Argentina: la que va desde la restauración democrática hasta el mencionado debate en 2018.Es decir, se trata de la reconstrucción de los avatares del aborto en la Argentina en estos últimos 35 años.

In 2018 discussion of a law about legal interruption of pregnancy took place in Argentina. The surprise opening was made by anunexpected actor. However, from the surprise a huge tide emerged. Miles of people took the streets wearing a green handkerchiefin order to support legal abortion. This was possible, among other things, due to the fast reaction of women ́s movements andfeminisms. Following that point the aim of this article is to describe the previous history of this debate. That is how socialmovements had been doing the previous years that allowed this window opportunity and the resources to deal with it as theyhave done. That previous history also shaped what was possible to say, the ways of saying it. In short, it supposed to replenish allprevious history about abortion demand in Argentina: the one that goes from democratic restoration to the debate in 2018. Thatis, to retailed abortion debate in the last 35 years.
