Uso escolar de infografías para la representación de células animales y vegetales

Abstract

Las infografías son representaciones visuales que combinan imágenes y textos para dar una visión general de fácil comprensión sobre un tema complejo. El objetivo de este artículo fue discutir el potencial didáctico de estas representaciones mediante el análisis de infografías de células animales (infografías A y C) y vegetales (infografías B y D), tomadas de libros de texto. En la primera sección, se reseñan distintas conceptualizaciones y clasificaciones de las infografías. En la segunda, se presentan los resultados que llevan a caracterizarlas como infográficos de primer nivel (A, B, C y D) e infografías individuales (A y B) y colectivas (C + D) y se discuten sus rasgos en referencia a su potencial didáctico. La tercera sección reúne sugerencias para su uso efectivo, desde su selección y su inclusión en actividades escolares.

Infographics are visual representations that combine images and text to give an easy-to-understand overview of a complex issue. The aim of this paper is to discuss the educational potential of these representations by analyzing infographics of animal (infographics A and C) and plant cells (infographics B and D) from textbooks. In the first section, different conceptualizations and classifications of infographics and their educational potential are outlined. In the second part, the results of the analysis of infographics that lead to characterize them as first level infographics (A, B, C and D) and individual computer graphics (A and B) and collective infographics (C + D) are presented. In addition, the main features of infographics, particularly regarding their educational potential, are discussed. Finally, a series of suggestions for the effective use, selection and inclusion of infographics in classroom activities is provided.
