Figuraciones del constructo sujeto-otro en las lecturas psicoanalíticas de Simone de Beauvoir y Luce Irigaray

Abstract

El presente trabajo se propone trazar líneas comparativas entre la producción conceptual de dos exponentes clásicas de la teoría feminista del siglo XX: Simone de Beauvoir y Luce Irigaray. Se hace especial énfasis en las lecturas que ambas pensadoras efectúan del psicoanálisis, y allí se analiza el modo en que el constructo Sujeto-Otro irrumpe en aquel contexto conceptual. Para ello se realiza un análisis de contenido cualitativo de la principal obra teórica en donde la categoría de interés irrumpe, en cada caso, de modo notable. Se trata de El segundo sexo de Simone de Beauvoir, y de Ese sexo que no es uno de Luce Irigaray. Se enfatizan el existencialismo y el estructuralismo como contextos filosóficos diferenciales a tener en cuenta, muchas veces inadvertido, cuando se trata de confrontar a ambas intelectuales respecto a sus estrategias político-feministas. Si el estructuralismo alimenta el determinismo y el universalismo del psicoanálisis, el existencialismo, por su parte, ofrece herramientas analíticas con mayor potencia política respecto a la situación de las mujeres cuando se trata de abrazar la posibilidad de la transformación social.

The present work aims to draw comparative lines between the conceptual productions of two classic exponents of twentieth century feminist theory: Simone de Beauvoir and Luce Irigaray. Special emphasis is placed on the readings that both thinkers make of psychoanalysis, and there analyze how the subject-other construct breaks into that conceptual context. For this purpose, an analysis of the qualitative content of the main theoretical work is carried out where the interest category breaks in each case in a remarkable way. It is The second sex of Simone de Beauvoir, and That sex that is not one of Luce Irigaray. Existentialism and structuralism are emphasized as differential philosophical contexts to be taken into account, often inadvertently, when it comes to confronting both intellectuals with regard to their feminist-political strategies. If structuralism feeds determinism and the universalism of psychoanalysis, existentialism, on the other hand, offers analytical tools with greater political power with respect to the situation of women when it comes to embracing the possibility of social transformation.
