Grandes inversiones en la producción del territorio metropolitano

Abstract

En el actual contexto de globalización se origina un proceso de inversiones, en América Latina, hacia las áreas metropolitanas. Y el Estado, a pesar de ser un “actor marginal", cumple un papel protagónico en la configuración de tales flujos de capital que hacen relación a la construcción del territorio metropolitano. El proceso de reestructuración económica de la última década ha dado lugar a un rediseño de la relación entre la sociedad v el espacio. Entre otros fenómenos, dicho proceso está generando nuevas estructuras espaciales de producción y consumo y, en muchos casos, como resultado de esto, nuevas formas de segregación socioespacial. En el presente trabajo se analizará el rol del Estado y de los Grandes Capitales Privados ante el proceso de producción del espacio metropolitano y las configuraciones urbanas emergentes haciendo referencia en la Región Metropolitana de Buenos Aires en Argentina.

In the present globalization context, a process of investments towards metropolitan areas originated in Latin American. These allotments of funds constitute a new investment model related to the urban development. The government, in spite of being a “marginal investor", plays a key role in the configuration of such flow of capitals which are related to the characteristics of the metropolitan territory. The process of economic restructuration in the '90s made a new relation between society and space. This process is generating new space structures of production and consumption, and new kinds of social segregation in space. Moreover, the role of the government and the big private capitals is analyzed in view of the process of production of the metropolitan space which results of the Latin American context today, focusing on tine metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
