"Aquí no es cuestión de antropólogos sino de política": la Asociación Madres de Plaza de Mayo filial Mar del Plata frente a las exhumaciones de NN en la ciudad en 1985

Abstract

Durante el año 1984 comenzaron a reactivarse causas por inhumaciones irregulares realizadas en cementerios de la Argentina durante la última dictadura. No obstante, los jueces que comenzaron a llevar adelante las exhumaciones eran en gran medida los mismos que habían intervenido en la inhumación de esos cuerpos o rechazado a los familiares como querellantes. En el caso de Mar del Plata, el juez Pedro Hooft -nombrado en 1976 por decreto del gobernador de facto de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, Ibérico Saint Jean- dio la orden de realizar exhumaciones en Cementerio Parque en 1985, la cual fue promovida por distintos familiares de detenidos-desaparecidos de la ciudad. Por su parte, la Asociación Madres de Plaza de Mayo Filial Mar del Plata -conformada en 1984- se manifestó en contra de la misma, por considerar que se trataba de una medida política que trababa las investigaciones que debían realizarse sobre los responsables de los delitos de lesa humanidad cometidos durante la dictadura. El análisis de este episodio permite acercarnos, por un lado, al vínculo entre la filial y las responsables de la conducción de la organización y, por otro lado, a la relación entre la filial local y el resto de las organizaciones defensoras de derechos humanos de la ciudad. A su vez, a partir del mismo se pueden observar algunas continuidades del sistema judicial con respecto al pasado dictatorial en un contexto en que tanto la ciudad, como la provincia y la nación estaban gobernadas por el radicalismo.

During the year 1984, judicial causes of irregular burials carried out in Argentinian cemeteries during the last dictatorship began to reactivate. However, the judges who started to carry out the exhumations were mainly the same ones who had intervened in the burial of those bodies, or rejected the relatives as complainants. In the case of Mar del Plata, Judge Pedro Hooft - designated in 1976 by decree of the governor of the Province of Buenos Aires, Iberian Saint Jean - ordered to perform exhumations at Cemetery Park in 1985, which were promoted by different relatives of detained-disappeared of the city. On the other hand, the Association Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Branch Mar del Plata -founded in 1984- was against it, considering that it was a political measure that blocked the investigations that had to be carried out on those responsible for the crimes against humanity committed during the dictatorship. The analysis of this episode allows us to approach, on the one hand, to the link between the subsidiary and those responsible for conducting the organization and, on the other hand, the relationship between the local subsidiary and the other human rights organizations in the city. At the same time, we can observe some continuities of the judicial system with respect to the dictatorial past in a context in which the city, as well as the province and the nation were governed by the radicalism.
