Imágenes que susurran

Abstract

En este artículo proponemos un recorrido de lectura de las imágenes fotográficas que componen el libro de Manuel Rivas: <i>As voces baixas</i> (en su primera edición de octubre de 2012, en lengua gallega) así como en su traducción a la lengua española-castellana, del año 2013: <i>Las voces bajas</i>. Analizamos el contraste entre el original y su versión española-castellana atendiendo a las distintas escenas comunicacionales que se plantean en uno y otro caso. Se trata de un texto sobre la memoria familiar y también social, en el que las fotografías ofician de testimonio de las historias, tanto particulares como de época. Aunque nos centramos en lo visual, esta lectura mantiene un diálogo con el relato escrito, relato que se construye incluyendo esas imágenes. Se trata de acercarnos a esos paraísos inmóviles que no dejan de inquietarnos a uno y otro lado del Atlántico.

In this paper we propose a reading route through the pictures that compose Manuel Rivas’s book: <i>As voices baixas</i> (its first edition of October 2012, in Galician), as we analyze what happened in its translation to the Spanish language in 2013, <i>Las voces bajas</i>. We work on the contrast between the original and its Spanish version according to the many communication scenes that arise in each case. This text deals with family and social memory, where the photographs work as a testimony of the stories both indivuals and from the period. Although we focus on the visual aspects, this reading will maintain a dialogue with the written story, a story that is built with those images. We carry out an analysis that allows us to approach these immobile heavens that still disturb us on both sides of the Atlantic.
