Aprendizaje Más Servicio (APS) e interculturalidad: estrategia extensionista

Abstract

Uno de los valores en los que sobresale la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP), institución pública y gratuita, es su compromiso social, reflejado en los esfuerzos que realiza para mantenerse cerca de la comunidad y atenta a las demandas sociales. Este artículo comparte una propuesta extensionista diagramada con el fin de mejorar la salud oral de una población, a partir de la construcción conjunta de los conocimientos, la elaboración de estrategias y herramientas que favorezcan el aprendizaje conjunto de alumnos, comunidad y docentes en forma mancomunada, con una actitud participativa y activa. Y de este modo generar que el grupo intervenido tome las mejores decisiones sobre salud oral y que los alumnos se involucren con la realidad social concerniente a su profesión, así como también proporcionar la atención odontológica a sectores relegados de la sociedad o con serias dificultades para acceder al sistema de salud.

One of the values that make the Faculty of Dentistry of the National University of La Plata, a public and free institution, to be outstanding is its social commitment, reflected in the many efforts it makes to stay close to the community and attentive to social demands. The following article aims to share a diagrammed extensionist experience in order to improve the oral health of a population from the joint construction of knowledge and the development of strategies and tools to favor the joint learning of students, community and teachers, maintaining a participative and active attitude, which fundamentally allows the intervened group to make the best decisions about oral health and permits students to get involved in the social reality with respect to their profession. It allows as well to take dental care to relegated sectors of the society, or to those with serious difficulties to access the health system.
