Foto digital y archivo familiar: cambios y continuidades

Abstract

Como consecuencia de los cambios culturales y el uso de artefactos tecnológicos digitales y medios conectivos, el uso de la fotografía se ha extendido adquiriendo mayor protagonismo. En este sentido, no hay duda que la fotografía digital ha reemplazado a la fotografía analógica en muchos ámbitos. En el ámbito familiar el soporte para el resguardo de las imágenes fotográficas ha sido históricamente el álbum impreso. Pero ¿Qué ocurre con las fotografías digitales? ¿Cómo se almacena hoy el recuerdo? ¿Se produjeron cambios, hay continuidades, o podríamos estar hablando de una co-existencia de ambas formas? En consecuencia, se busca reflexionar sobre los cambios y continuidades en el archivo fotográfico familiar producidos en el marco de la digitalización de la práctica fotográfica. Para ello, este artículo analizará de forma incipiente aquellos cambios y continuidades en materia de producción, la distribución y el consumo de las imágenes fotográficas. Así, no solo cambian los roles dentro del proceso fotográfico, sino también la relación público-privado. Asimismo, la fotografía digital confluye en una proliferación de imágenes donde el resguardo también es variado, siendo Instagram uno de esos soportes. En suma, hay cambios y continuidades, como así también una co-existencia de ambas técnicas que aún es necesario precisar.

As a consequence of cultural changes and the use of digital technological artifacts and connective media, the use of photography has spread, acquiring greater prominence. In this sense, there is no doubt that digital photography has replaced analog photography in many areas. In the family environment, the support for the protection of photographic images has historically been the printed album. But what about digital photos? How is memory stored today? Have there been changes, are there continuities, or could we be talking about a co-existence of both forms? Consequently, it seeks to reflect on the changes and continuities in the family photographic archive produced within the framework of the digitalization of photographic practice. To do this, this article will analyze in an incipient way those changes and continuities in terms of production, distribution and consumption of photographic images. Thus, not only the roles within the photographic process change, but also the public-private relationship. Likewise, digital photography converges in a proliferation of images where the protection is also varied, being Instagram one of those supports. In short, there are changes and continuities, as well as a co-existence of both techniques that still need to be specified.
