Ambiente y turismo: valoración monetaria de las forestaciones y el arbolado en la Costa Atlántica de Buenos Aires

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo fue valorar el aporte al turismo de las forestaciones y el arbolado urbano ubicados en la costa atlántica. Se trabajó en las localidades de los partidos de la Costa, de Pinamar y de partido de Villa Gesell, donde se aplicó el método de los precios hedónicos, ajustando el modelo por mínimos cuadrados ordinarios. Este fue altamente significativo, un R² de 67,65% y las variables que resultaron significativas fueron: cantidad de dormitorios, superficie cubierta, superficie verde, servicios brindados, distancia al mar y cobertura arbórea. Se puede afirmar estadísticamente que los servicios ecosistémicos de origen forestal impulsan la actividad turística dado que el modelo muestra que los visitantes están dispuestos a pagar alrededor de $23.000 más por casas ubicadas dentro de sitios con alta cobertura arbórea, evidenciando estadísticamente el rol de forestaciones y el arbolado urbano de la región estudiada.

The objective of this work was to value the contribution to tourism of afforestation and urban trees located on the Atlantic coast. Work was carried out in the towns of the partido de la Costa, Pinamar and Villa Gesell counties, where the hedonic price method was applied, adjusting the model by ordinary least squares. This was highly significant, an R² of 67.65% and the variables that were significant were: number of bedrooms, covered area, green area, services provided, distance to the sea and tree cover. It can be said that ecosystem services of forest origin boost tourism activity since the model shows that visitors are willing to pay around $ 23,000 more for houses located within sites with high tree coverage, showing statistically the role of forestation and urban tree of the studied region.
