La silla estilo campo argentina

Abstract

En la revista ArtyHum Nº 84 (agosto de 2022), se habían sentado las bases e hipótesis de nuestra investigación sobre la silla criolla de la República Argentina y sus relaciones con las colonias de la península Ibérica (las colonias de los Imperios español y portugués de 1790 que se asentaron desde América Central hasta América del Sur). Afectando tanto a la actual República de Brasil como a la República Argentina. El objetivo de este trabajo, consiste en continuar aquel desarrollo explicando la tipología del diseño de la silla estilo campo (rural), de la República Argentina, apelando a las iconografías de las pinturas u obras de arte de uno de sus máximos representantes nacionales, el artista Florencio Molina Campos (1891-1959); de reconocida y legitimada trayectoria por su obra artístico-caricaturesca de la vida social del gaucho. Como se observa, en el contenido del desarrollo teórico, no deja de ser sorprendente que las ideas proto-racionales del diseño vernacular del mueble premoderno del gaucho, en la República Argentina -con du geometría minimalista y austera-, anticipan no solo al Movimiento Moderno en Arquitectura y diseño de muebles de Europa y la Escuela de la Bauhaus en Alemania (de principios del siglo XX). Sino que arrojan resultados y conclusiones hermenéuticas que asimilan el diseño de este mueble, de un modo etnográficamente análogo al comportamiento -en diseño de objetos- a otras culturas rurales y campestres como la comunidad Shakers en EE.UU.

In the magazine ArtyHum Nº 84 (August 2022), the bases and hypotheses of our research on the Creole chair of the Argentine Republic and its relations with the colonies of the Iberian Peninsula (the colonies of the Spanish and Portuguese Empires of 1790 who settled from Central America to South America). Affecting both the current Republic of Brazil and the Argentine Republic. The objective of this work is to continue that development, explaining the typology of the design of the country style (rural) chair, of the Argentine Republic, appealing to the iconographies of the paintings or works of art of one of its highest national representatives, the artist Florencio Molina Campos (1891-1959); of recognized and legitimized trajectory for his artistic-caricaturesque work of the social life of the gaucho. As observed, in the content of the theoretical development, it is surprising that the proto-rational ideas of the vernacular design of the gaucho's pre-modern furniture, in the Argentine Republic -with its minimalist and austere geometry-, anticipate not only the Modern Movement in Architecture and Furniture Design from Europe and the Bauhaus School in Germany (from the early 20th century). Rather, they yield results and hermeneutic conclusions that assimilate the design of this piece of furniture, in an ethnographic way analogous to the behavior -in object design- of other rural and country cultures such as the Shakers community in the USA.
