Relaciones entre Corea y Argentina: una lección de Soft Power a lo largo del tiempo

Abstract

Con la creación del Día del Kimchi en octubre del año 2021, consideramos que las relaciones entre Corea del Sur y Argentina han llegado a uno de sus puntos más álgidos. Éste hecho fue el que llevó a preguntarnos cómo se logró ésta declaración histórica. Por consiguiente, el punto central del trabajo es entender cómo se formó el vínculo cultural entre ambos estados, cuáles fueron los elementos que llevaron a la declaración legislativa en la Argentina y el porqué de la misma. Para desarrollar el trabajo, mencionaremos los acontecimientos más relevantes desde el año 1990 hasta el año 2022. Para ello, el cuerpo principal del trabajo estará inicialmente dividido en décadas, para brindar contexto, y así poder entender cómo se dió el Dia del Kimchi. Una vez analizado el contexto histórico, hablaremos sobre las relaciones durante los últimos diez años, comprendiendo así los gobiernos de Mauricio Macri y Alberto Fernandez. Finalmente, responderemos a los interrogantes planteados con anterioridad y brindaremos una conclusión al respecto. Para poder llevar a cabo éste trabajo, se consultarán papers científicos, datos públicos de la organización Datos Macro y del Banco Mundial, como también la información disponible en La Embajada de Argentina en Corea del Sur, La Embajada de Corea del Sur en Argentina, la Cancillería Argentina y la página web del Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores del Gobierno de Corea del Sur.

With the creation of Kimchi Day in October 2021, we believe that relations between South Korea and Argentina have reached one of their highest points. This fact was what led us to ask how this historic declaration was achieved. Therefore, the central point of the work is to understand how the cultural link between the two states was formed, what were the elements that led to the legislative declaration in Argentina and the reason for it. To develop the work, we will mention the most relevant events from the year 1990 to the year 2022. To do this, the main body of the work will initially be divided into decades, to provide context, and thus be able to understand how Kimchi Day took place. Once the historical context has been analyzed, we will talk about the relations during the last ten years, thus understanding the governments of Mauricio Macri and Alberto Fernandez. Finally, we will answer the questions raised previously and provide a conclusion in this regard. In order to carry out this work, scientific papers, public data from the organization Data Macro and the World Bank will be consulted, as well as the information available at the Embassy of Argentina in South Korea, the Embassy of South Korea in Argentina, the Argentine Foreign Ministry and the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of South Korea.
